Surviving Cygnets

Great to see that the two surviving cygnets from the brood of 8 (pictured on 18 May) are still doing well. Today's shot shows the lucky duo resting on the bank of the canal as the parents keep a watchful eye on passers-by on the canal path (See extra pic). The parent swans have no aggressive response to human beings but are very agitated by their dogs. On the bank the young are also out of harm's way of pike, which probably silently finished off their brothers and sisters.
