Alive and Singing

The photo is awful but what it is showing certainly wasn't! Sunday night was the end of year concert by W's choir, Alive and Singing Rock and Pop Choir. It was held in the Grove Theatre in Dunstable and W's choir from Milton Keynes were joined by the other three 'sister' choirs from Bedford, Ampthill and Stevenage leading to around 200 people on stage backed by a four piece rock band. The choirs are mainly ladies, but there is a significant male section too. The concert lasted about two hours and the singing was superb and really quite stirring! Suffice to say they were given a standing ovation at the end. In a way it was also a sad occasion for the choirs as the founder and leader is moving to Canada so this was his last concert in charge. A new leader has taken over so hopefully she can keep the same atmosphere and enthusiasm going.
