North Yorkshire from Whitestone Cliffe

Sutton under Whitestone Cliffe, now there's name for you when you have to write your address. So long, but possibly a prettier description than having to own up to living in Mudflats near Kincardine.
There was no problem in finding the cottage and never once did I have to resort to turning the map upside down to find the correct side of the road for the turn offs, bearing in mind we were going north to south.

Yesterday the sun shine and our windows looked over fields to the eponymous cliffs. A black horse watched us over the fence as we unpacked the car.
We met up with our friends and after a meal with them in the local inn, back to their place to look at an album of our Indian trip photos. What a lovely way to start our mini break.

Today it was raining as I made friends again with the horse, but despite the bad weather we drove with our friends a circular tour of the Yorkshire moors, managing to fit in coffee in Thirsk. Lunch in Richmond, afternoon tea in Leyburn and a walk round Masham before hiking to Sutton Bank and the Whitestone cliff with a 180 degree view over North Yorkshire, and this is the blip of the day.
