Thawing Out in the Shadow of Mount Peel

Much like Lynn Stream, pictured here, most of my day has been taken up with thawing out.

Our pipes from the water tanks into the house have been frozen solid for the last three days, despite me lagging them last week .Three consecutive nights of temperatures nudging negative double figures have been disheartening both for us and fellow residents in the Forest.

With a Nor'Wester upon us again today, it gave me a good opportunity to disconnect the external pipes and attempt to  shift some of the ice.

Like the stream here, a steady stream of water helps with the defrosting process. I managed to take each pipe and get some water through it, then allowing me to pump some water up to our header tank. Net result - hot and cold running water and at last a chance to do the dishes and have a hot shower! Bliss!

Thanks to everyone who commented, starred and faved yesterday's night shot of the Southern Cross. It's very much appreciated :-)
