Pictorial blethers

Ma boay ... *

It's a strange thing to watch your firstborn being a professional on the telly, tonight answering questions on the BBC's actions in the face of Google's removing links from search engines as a result of the "Right to be forgotten" legislation. In some ways it's like watching a stranger - how could your child be grown up like this? - while at the same time noting that you're aware of a resemblance to your own father, wondering at the lucidity of his discourse, noting the lack of "um"s and the fact that he looks perfectly at home sitting there like any other expert.

And then of course there's the maternal pride ... but I've gone on quite enough for anyone to recognise that!

*Glaswegian for "my son". For any foreigners out there ...
