Stockghyll Force, Ambleside

We'd been planning to do a long walk today, but decided to take it relatively easy instead.  We popped to Booths in Keswick and stocked up a bit more on food and drink, then drove down to Windermere and Ambleside for a little explore.  We accidentally happened across this little walk up to Stockghyll Force just on the edge of the town in Ambleside - a very happy accident, as it turned out, as it offered a lot of beauty for very little effort!  Shortly before I took this photo, there were a couple of girls bathing in the pool at the foot of the falls.  Bit odd.  Didn't really want them in my shot, so I was glad when they left.

Stayed in for dinner tonight - Tim cooked us a chilli.  I was supposed to take him out for a birthday meal last night, which was sadly replaced with an emergency dental appointment - hoping to be able to re-book it soon!
