Black Beauty

There are a few of the wild blackberries in the brambles behind our back yard that look ready to eat, but this one, within easy reach, was still too firm to my touch, and not ready to leave the other berries.

That was the case this morning, when I took this, but I suspect that after today's unbroken sunshine and high temperatures, this berry might be easy to pick tomorrow.

For now, we'll content ourselves with the local peaches and blueberries I bought at the farmers' market on Saturday.
