Le Pool

We've had a day at the gite today which was lovely. I remember the Little Misses coming into ask if they could go swimming at about 7am and then I was woken up by Mr K with a tray of tea and pains au chocolat. At 11am!!!
Bliss!
The Little Misses have been in and out of the pool all day. They get in, swim and splash about, go blue, get out and wrapped up in towels, scamper upstairs to the loft (the warming space) which is roasting  and then come down again for more of the same.
Interspersed with swings on the swings, games on the iPads and playing upstairs (games which involve lots of squealing, running about, magic powers, tying soft toys around their middles as armour and shooting at each other with clothes pegs laser guns.
And of course they've been collecting snails!
One bizarre thing, as we were eating our lunch outside a man appeared in the garden and without a word started strimming the lawn. Ten minutes later another man appeared, shook hands with the first man and started chatting. All without a single glance in our direction!
Eventually the first one looked over and said "you don't mind us doing this do you?"
Er yes.
When we said we'd rather they didn't - because it's our bloody gite for the week and you've just walked in and started cutting the grass without a word and my children have been wandering around naked for much of the morning and I'm still in my jim-jams and we're trying to enjoy a quiet lunch outside and just how stupid are you?  - and that the boiler wasn't working and we had no hot water, he got all stroppy and they left mumbling about coming back after lunch to look at the boiler.
The mother in law turned up at 5pm to ask about the boiler by which time Mr K had fixed it.
And she seemed miffed about her wasted trip.
Oh my God!
In spite of that it was a brilliant lazy family day.
And I'm still in my jim-jams at 9pm!!!
