Learning day by day

Tired children

The end of term has finally arrived, along with predicted tears from Will. Both came home with holiday homework, but perfectly reasonable amounts.

After school we went to the traditional end of year picnic. Will, who had complained he was hungry coming out of school, ran off to play football with anyone and everyone. Carys flitted around talking to various children in various years, coming back occasionally for a bite to eat. We left around 5pm and walked slowly home to start the summer holidays.

This school year:
Carys's confidence in her academic abilities has blossomed. Her reading ability was shown to be incredibly high for a then, seven year old. She took part in the KS 1 production of Annie Jr and loved it and she represented school as part of the choir and the athletics team.

Will has taken to school in a way I would never have predicted. His reading ability continues to surprise me daily and for a child who refused to colour or pick up a pencil before school, his writing blows me away. Possibly more importantly, he has made people laugh and the year four boys think he is 'epic' and 'a legend'.
