Sailing mecca

In an area renowned for its sailing interests, I just could not resist this Blip of a yachting display among the furnishings in the major department store in Southampton's West Quay.
Especially as two of the worlds biggest international sailing events kick off in the Solent this weekend.
The big boys of sailing take flight in the opening regatta leading up to the America's Cup in Bermuda in two years time with Louis Vuitton World Series yacht racing off Portsmouth, while the Royal Yacht Squadron hosts an equally international week long regatta at Cowes to celebrate its bicentenary.
So this display in the shopping centre quickly caught my eye today.
The Solent area is a world stage for sailing for the next few days leading up to the famous Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week which opens on August 8 with up to 1,000 yachts competing and then the Rolex Fastnet race which starts from Cowes on August 16.
