Portrait Day

Today was day one of a two day course at the portrait Gallery in London.  It was exciting and stimulating looking at different lighting set ups and working in small groups to try out different effects.  The day ended with this wonderful model - Laura-Kate - who was incredibly patient and appreciative of our efforts.  We were shooting in black and white.

This shot was with two lights and I was determined to include her interesting boots in the pose. One of my extras is with a single light set up.  The third shot is of Bruce, another course member and I have done a quick composite - the sort of image I love - but this would need more time to get the background even. 

Day 2 tomorrow - it is really worthwhile doing and I would heartily recommend one of these courses.  I am becoming much more confident with studio life.
