Buddleia

For three successive days this week my working day has started in Manchester, in the same place.

This morning I arrived an hour early, so the light being fantastic I stopped en route to have a look at the Wilburn St development by the Irwell.

I love the railway viaducts in the city centre, and in Castlefield they are heavily colonised by Buddleia - this chinese plant (originally) loves wasteland and nooks and crannies, and its roots seem to find a foothold in places where growth might seem nigh on impossible.

An extra - nearby, Rowans loaded with berries. Autumn is not far away.
