Rain

16.6C and mostly dull with plenty of cloud. Light breeze..

Grocery shopping this morning then home.

After lunch Apothecary7 and I took Maeve the Deerhound for a walk. We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. As we approached Craigmill farm I spotted the letters for the word rain amongst letters round the side of one of the farm's field watering devices which has been sitting unused next to a barn for a while. I decided to go along the front of the barn and get close enough to pick them out for a shot appropriate to the way a lot of people are feeling about this summer. Just for something different.

We turned right at the farm and went down the track to the shore road. We came back along the cycle path and went down to the beach at Westhaven via the road bridge over the railway. We had seen Valhalla A heading shoreward as we had walked along the cycle path. The skipper had his son with him today and they were getting ready to unload the catch when we got down to the beach.

We came back over the railway line then carried on round in a long loop, heading into Carnoustie then up the main road before turning along for home. Maeve was in her garden in the afternoon, although it didn't feel warm. She did come in before dinner time ... perhaps we had a few spots of ... rain !

Final round of the Women's Open golf from Turnberry on the telly this afternoon. Excellent golf.
