Life with The Pinks

playdough pledge

the jumpingbeans are taking part in the playdough pledge this week, and I've been watching the fun with green eyes. We love playdough in the pink house, but at the moment we have no kitchen to speak of (to make playdough in) and the playdough "stuff" is all packed away. But I had to get involved somehow, so I unpacked a mulitpack of playdoh that I had stashed away for a birthday gift, and we had a mini playdoh playdate using pre-made playdoh, and toy kitchen "props". Miss pinkmade me blueberry pies, and a pizza, and some stew. All had special names that were a new made up Miss Pink language. Master Pink then continued where Miss Pink had left off when he got home from school. I like the idea of an "invitation" to play. It's something that I should do more of, and perhaps have got a bit lazy at since the building work has been going on.
What else has happened today;

Miss Pink went to pre-school and "did dancing" "I did caterpillar dance". She has also been incredibly cuddly and affectionate. We played doctors/nurses, did some jigsaws, and read some stories, and every now and then she would launch herself at me for a big cuddle.

Master Pink has been at school, and come home to play playdoh, burying a time capsule in the garden (!) and to watch Disney junior. He has a day off tomorrow.

Mr Pink has been to work.

And at home we've had an eventful day. Two days ago we had our gas switched off and an imminent danger sticker metaphorically slapped on the house. Why, well because when the builders were checking the pipes for the gas into the kitchen, one of the pipes was showing signs of corrosion. "the" pipe was in fact made from cast iron, something that isn't used these days, but it had corroded rather badly and bits of it were flaking off in the builders fingers. Rather than a huge gas leak occuring if the pipe burst, the gas was shut down until the plumber could ensure that all was safe. Well the long and short of the saga is, that now we have nice shiney new copper pipe, no flooring had to be dug up, Mr Pink could breath a huge sigh of relief, and i was able to cook a hot meal tonight without use of a microwave!! hoorah. Thankyou Plumbers, builders, and teabag makers....I will be ever grateful for your services.
