Quod oculus meus videt

The Royal Oak (and son)

Another 'Flying Friday' shot.  This is the Royal Oak at Boscobel House, where King Charles II hid from Cromwell's army after the defeat at the Battle Of Worcester in 1651.

It is said this is not the original Oak, but an offshoot.  It's in fairly poor nick with bands to prevent further splitting.  The fencing is to prevent visitors getting too close .
