Whitby Museum

Birds and more in large.
Back blip - Whitby Day 5

After brunch at the Whitby Deli, we visited the Whitby Museum in Pannett Park. It is a small but varied museum: it has rooms dedicated to Whitby's shipping industry and to explorers (inc. Captain Cook and the Endeavour), and the main hall includes sections on natural history, fossils, as well as many various cabinets of pottery, stained glass, costumes, local artefacts, and more. Local birds are well represented in their bird gallery, and I was otherwise rather taken by the excellent palaeontology section, and with the intriguing Tempest Prognosticator model.
