Quod oculus meus videt

Farmer Belfield

What a marvellous day!  Had a wonderful time with our oldest (I mean longest standing) friends.  We headed off to the Peak District for a walk over the Roaches.  Problem was so had half of the population of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire and parking was a nightmare.  When we finally found a parking space we were already half way towards Roaches End so we decided to start by walking the rest of the way along the road before turning on to the path up to the escarpment.  Well it was my lucky day as we came across Mr Belfield, his wife, son and hired sheep shearer.  He was only to happy to let us watch and we spent a wonderful few minutes chatting away.  They farm from Brown Sett Farm and he told us that the reason for the farm's name was that it was named for having rare brown and white faced badgers.

All in all we had a cracking day, rounded off by a pint of Doom Bar and a carvery in the Three Horseshoes Inn at Blackshaw Moor.

(Time taken photographing; 180 minutes - time taken processing and posting 25 minutes).
