Speckled Wood

Catching-up

One more for the butterfly collection - the first I've seen around here (though I did see one in the Dearne Valley Park in May - not too many miles away).  I completed my walk on a different route and since my last visit the field has been divided up for horses and the path now wends its way around some electric fences.  It took me past a bank that was covered in brambles and knapweed which were both very popular with butterflies.  Unfortunately some of it wasn't easy to access but fortunately this very fine `speckled wood' played ball and I was able to take several reasonable images.  I've finally got around to doing `The Big Butterfly Count' so this was a welcome addition.
