Meadows Flowers

Studiously avoiding as much of the Fringe and Festival mayhem as possible, His Lordship and I walked away from the city centre to the ' fur coat, nae knickers' suburb of Morningside to do some food shopping. Not that it was particularly quiet even there, rather as I imagine Kirkwall to be when three cruise ships arrive in one day.

With the M&S cherries and a few other goodies in the bag, we returned to hoist the sunshade over the patio- a sure way to ensure the sun disappears pronto.

It was lovely to find this patch of wild flowers planted beside the path across Bruntsfield Links and brightening up the otherwise uniform green.
