Harbour reflections

A busy day. I was up and out of the self catering at 5.45am hoping to catch a sunrise this time but low cloud and drizzle meant that nothing really happened. It was still nice to be out though.The tide was in and very calm so some good  'night time' reflections in the harbour. Very peaceful with only the sound of the oystercatchers.
Walked up to the Cromarty Arms Inn for lunch and then back to the harbour where we sat and watched the boats. The fishing boat that went out this morning and had trouble unloading . It took several hours and lots of conversation, some ohhing and ahhing and then eventually they unloaded on the pontoon.
A family were catching crabs over the side of the harbour railings. A mini tractor moved along the cobbles and down the road. A rig was towed past which seemed strange to see something so big being pulled by a small boat. Two young lads with fishing rods were trying their luck at the end of the pier.
After tea of salmon and oatcakes and an almond tart from Cromarty Bakery I went for a walk on the Links waiting for the Cruise ship to sail by. I sat on the bench and watched a group of kayaks rowed by some excited children , a jet ski whizzed past with a passenger hanging on for dear life, a small boat that was collecting creels returned to the harbour.
Noisy terns kept diving in , two seals were being nosey and I caught a glimpse of two dolphins.
The Cruise ship eventually sailed past at gone 8pm all lit up like a Christmas tree.
