Maroon gladiolus flower

Another surprise in the garden in Belgium, I threw these on the garden's scrap heap in the garden at the end of winter, yet they started to grow after all. Then the beetles and slugs found them, so I really didn't think any flower would survive, yet here they are. They grow in all directions except the one they should grow in, so I've had to cut them off and bring them in. Somehow my camera can't actually capture their colour, and even fiddling with the White Balance and PS doesn't result in the true colour which is a deep  velvety maroon with magenta accents. For Flower Friday, hosted as always by BikerBear.

Thank you again so much for your support, comments, stars and faves, you're the best !
