Day 3

It was a really cruisy day today.  We knew we only had a short driving day in comparison to the first two days so there was no need to race off from Balranald.  The trip across to Renmark was just wonderful.  For a greater part of our journey we travelled through the Millewa region which is known for growing wheat.  It was absolutely amazing to see green wheat fields stretching to the horizon as far as the eye could see.  I really marvel at the way farmers can achieve such a fantastic result.

My blip today is of the incredibly beautiful flowers that were growing wild along the roadside for what seemed miles.  I have a feeling that they've been seeded to celebrate the "Sunraysia" regions ability to grow wonderful stone fruit and citrus fruit.

We arrived in Renmark just after 2.30 and could not believe our eyes when we found the Big 4 Caravan Park.  It stretches along the banks of the mighty "Mighty Murray" River for a kilometre and we were lucky enough to be allocated one of the wonderful sites right on the banks of the river.  When we open the back door of "MiniMo" all we can see is the river.

We will spend three nights here and it's great to be able to unwind after the rigours of finally getting on the road.  I've added a couple of additional images.  One is of the scene from right outside our Motor Home and the other was one of the house boats that are so popular on the Murray River.  What a great way to travel.  It is so serene here and I've made myself a promise that I'll be up early to catch the sunrise......we'll see!!!

Day 3.....Balranald to Renmark.....301km
Total Travelled - 1046km

PS - I'd like to think the beautiful pelican in the extra image has taken a shine to us and followed us all the way from Balranald :-))
