Little Gymnasts

We've come up to North Wales today to spend the weekend with Uncle D.
Knowing that we never leave as early as I think we will I thought the Little Misses may as well go to their swimming lessons with Mr K while I packed and tidied up.
They went to Harris + Hoole afterwards as usual, had a cup of tea with my mum, picked up supplies for our weekend away and then headed home.
While they were gone I blitzed the house and it's actually looking better. Woohoo!!! The hallway is clear for the first time in months, the shoe mountain has been brought under control, the piles of "stuff" everywhere have been sorted and put away or binned. I even hoovered!!
So we were pretty late setting off but that's nothing new and at least it was a productive morning.
We made it to services on the M42 before we made our first stop of the day. Starbucks, Waitrose, lunch and a play in the park, ice creams. We were there for hours!!
Then we set off again and made it to Oswestry before an emergency toilet break.
Then - in the beautiful evening light - we made it a little bit further to a wonderful farm shop at the Rhug Estate near Ruthin. We only stopped to get milk (it's the last shop before my brother's house!) but ended up staying for coffee, a little picnic and lots of gymnastics on the grass.
Miss E has perfected her one armed cartwheel.
Miss L less so!!!
Eventually we tootled on, driving straight towards the mountains of Snowdonia in the most stunning evening sunshine. It was just beautiful. The green was so green, the shadows of the walls, the sheep, the mountains so clear in the distance.
I was tempted to stop for a photo but as we'd spent six hours driving up I thought we'd better crack on!
Once we'd dropped our stuff in the lovely cottage - a new one for us which is even closer to Mr D's - we headed to see him and River. Naturally the Little Misses barely said hello before rushing down to the river to get started on a dam.
I love it here. So peaceful and beautiful.
