The Bidborough Windmill

When I moved to this village about 20 years ago the Grade II listed old ruined windmill was within a farm complex and not easy viewed. The farmer sold part of his land including the bit with the windmill to developers and it became part of a new house in 2006 with a replica Kent syle cap on the old tower.  This is good news for the old towermill built in 1858 which reached the end of its useful life in 1900 when it was struck by lightening and two sails came off.  Now all you have to do to see the old mill is wander into the Mill Court development, which I did for the very first  time today not quite believing its 9 years since the development and this the first time I have wandered in.  Shame the sky was so grey today, I have added just a tint of blue.
