Sunlit moment

On a still, mild day the forecast rain seemed unlikely, but as we walked along Loch Striven in a moment of gentle sunlight we could see the dark clouds mustering over the hills at the head of the loch. Did we turn back? Don't be silly. That road, with its rusting metal fence and the wild flowers beginning to turn autumnal was far too seductive ...

And the conversations we had! On this quiet road, several miles from the town, we met a carload of friends from church (two conversations, as they passed one way and then the other - the road is a dead end), a friend on a bike returning from cleaning bat poo from Inverchaolain Church, another friend driving the school bus.

We walked on. Twenty minutes later, when the sky actually looked much lighter, the rain began. We were soaked. Again.

My extra photo today is the rainbow's end over the Firth as we headed up the road towards home.
