Crisp Morning On the Waikari Saddle

We woke to a light dusting of snow again this morning, so I decided to head up to the saddle with my brother-in-law TJ, who has been visiting us this weekend.

TJ and I headed up here the other evening but the cloud was so low that we had no view at all. So it was a marked contrast as we parked up to capture this view down the gorge road towards the snow dusted Harper Range on the way to Mesopotamia.

We saw the ute that passed us here a little later on our return from White Rock - the farmer had been moving sheep across the hills, but unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to grab a shot of that - which would have been great.

The view from White Rock was pretty amazing though, with a clear view all the way up to the peaks of the Two Thumb Range at the head of the valley, with the peaks of The Thumbs, Achilles and Alma standing proud above the valley below. Check out the extra photo for the stunning view.
