It's OK

It's going to be an Indian summer and we can forget all about dreary August.

Matthew set off for the long drive back to the UK yesterday having finished his summer season in the south of France. His ferry is at 11:00 this morning and he drives straight to Swindon to start a 2 month stint in HR. I can't see him liking that.

When we left Darlington on Sunday afternoon, we called in at the cemetery to pay our respects to Mags and Donald, Diana's parents. Andrew was driving in his Nissan X-Trail, a 4x4. As we were driving round, our way was blocked by a large van. I said to Andrew that there was enough room to squeeze past and I honestly believe there was. Well he did pass, but he didn't squeeze. He pulled right over to the right, onto the grass, the grass that covers the graves that run alongside the road. Yes, he drove right over the graves. The girls were mortified. They didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm glad I'm driving in France this weekend.
