If you can't beat them...

Garden Art.

A little while ago we did some serious pruning on the Birds Cherry Tree in the corner of the garden.  Despite Clickychick's early jobs being science based she is an artist at heart and by inclination.  Seeing the textures of the wood and the Lichens growing on them she decided to make some "Object d'Art" for the woodland part of the garden we are developing.

She had seen chainsaw produced fungi but she wanted something that combined and contrasted the textures with the smooth wood.  So the caps of the toadstools are turned and the stems trimmed branches.  The only part not "home grown" is the slice of trunk they stand on.

Today was also the first day of the C-Art open Studio trail and she has been very pleased by the turn out for the first day.  So all in all a successful day with the studio open and then the fungi assembled after she came home.
