Menorca - Day 11: Far de Favàritx

Back blip

We visited the Cap de Favàritx where my favourite lighthouse is found. The landscape around the lighthouse is very extreme, with folded layers of slate making up the headland which reaches out away from the island leaving the lighthouse standing very exposed on its little limb of land.
Since my last visit, a lot of the headland has been roped off (it is part of the parc natural de s'Albufera des Grau), and the lighthouse is under scaffolding, but it was still fun to visit it when the sea was large and the waves were crashing over the rocks. Other shots of the lighthouse and its surroundings are right from here.

I also took macro photographs of the rocks and shells (including a nacreous shell fragment) that I found at Baix des Pas on this day.

Other pictures from this day can be found on Flickr (right from here).
