Learning day by day

Oughton

Today has been lovely. After a brief bit of aggravation by Will this morning they have both been brilliant all day. We went to church to find no kids lit, but Will sat and read his book quietly for the whole thing. Carys was of course, beautifully behaved. She tried the wine again for the first time since May and told me with a grin that it made her tummy tingle.

I dropped them at home for a lunch with Jim and headed to town to meet M, Carys's first swim teacher, for coffee. Our expected visitors for the afternoon were thwarted by the trains, so we headed to Oughton for a walk and cycle. There we bumped into friends from school. We walked with them for a while, then we parted ways only to reunite at the Garden Gate Tearoom. Replete with tea and cake we wandered back, changed our tea plans and generally had a nice evening.

A couple of weeks ago Carys rode from London to Windsor (29miles) for Breast Cancer Now. The support for her has been unbelievable. Yesterday the total amount she has raised topped £500. I am bursting with pride for her. She is now plotting a cake sale to raise more funds, so watch this space!
