South Coast Scribblings

Battle of Britain flypast

About five groups of Spitfires flew past here - this was the best photo I got from our garden. The flights were delayed for 2 hours due to bad weather, but came over here from about 2.30 pm. Not quite as close as I would have liked (have cropped this) but at least we saw and heard them. Not sure what the big plane is in front. It was unclear from the maps whether they were flying over the sea or just along the coastal towns. They appeared to be either at sea or hugging the very edge of the coastline. My neighbour was going to Goodwood to see it all - must have been fantastic to see forty of them taking off. They were showing it on the television, but took it off for Jeremy Corbyn's speech at the TUC conference in Brighton!

Still very windy today, but glimmers of sunshine this afternoon.
