Wings of an Angel

As I was heading north to start my weeks holiday on the Northumberland coast I decided to take a slight detour to actually visit the Angle of the North, rather than just glancing at it from the A1 or from the train. I think it is a magnificent piece of sculpture.

It was quite an overcast day, but there was a steady stream of people coming and looking at the sculpture and taking pictures.

The weather improved with the drive further north, and I had a bracing walk on the beach at Embleton Bay after I had pitched my tent
