Heavenly Light on the Church of the Good Shepherd

After the disappointment of not being able to head up Mount John last night, it was uplifting to wake to a golden morning at Lake Tekapo.

Before breakfast I walked down to the riverside on the opposite side from the Church of the Good Shepherd to get this shot of surely New Zealand's most photographed building bathed in the morning glow.

I'm hoping to head back down to Tekapo once the weather improves - the forecast isn't looking great this week (and the moon is starting to be a bit to luminous at night) but hopefully I can get down to photograph the observatory before the galactic bulge of the Milky Way dips below the horizon until the autumn.
