Standing Stones Kilmartin Glen

Bright start to the day becoming dull through the middle of the day then showers later and rain into early evening.

We went to Kilmartin Glen this morning to have a walk with Maeve the Deerhound from the car park by the standing stones round the quiet roads to Temple Wood and back across the field where the stones are.

Mid morning we drove South to meet up with friends Mother Shipton and Snapper. We had a catch up chat over tea then set off to the secret garden for a wander and to look for some photos. We let Maeve rest in the car. The garden was lovely, with lots of things to look at, plenty of flowers and leaves beginning to change colour. After the garden visit we had a walk further round the coastline to see one or two quiet little bays and to be able to look across to Crinan. There was also a very fine dry stone wall.

Later Apothecary7 and I went up to the Kilmartin museum cafe, after which we went South to Cairnbaan and took Maeve for a walk on the Crinan canal towpath from Lock 6 along to Lock 10 and back. A nice flat section of the towpath so Maeve could have an easy walk.
