Forget-me-not

In 15th-century Germany, it was supposed that the wearers of the flower would not be forgotten by their lovers.

Legend has it that in medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along the side of a river. He picked a posy of flowers, but because of the weight of his armour he fell into the river. As he was drowning he threw the posy to his loved one and shouted "forget me not". It was often worn by ladies as a sign of faithfulness and enduring love.

Long lasting profusions of dainty blooms in delightful shades of mauve turning to blue, charming and lightly scented. Popular in gardens they simply pop up anywhere but in areas where they are not native, they have frequently escaped to wetlands and riverbanks.

A day with plenty of sun, warm in sheltered spots while cherry blossom swayed on a light cool breeze, puffy clouds drifted through the sky and spring flowers nodded their heads.

Mum was much better today, we did a quick grocery shop as we were both running low on a few items. We rang the hospital and R is much better, he'd had a temperature and thought to have had a virus, he had been mentioning mum's name. I've been feeling a bit snuffly and hope its just hayfever, only time will tell. My thoughts continue to be with hubby throughout the day, thankful for modern technology which allows us to be in contact at a 'drop of a hat'.

Gosh, many are still stopping by with hearts, stars and lovely words for the little droplet the other day, thank you so much, so kind and thoughtful and always greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the weekend blippers :)
