The tree surgeons have arrived

Delayed by previous work, the tree surgeons arrived this morning. Their first job was to fell two trees, changing the face of the front garden immediately. They will carry out pruning of the enormous ash trees that are much too big for our garden but have to remain and the beeches, from which the house takes its name.

I'm "breaking eggs with sticks" in an attempt to catch up friends, festival business and everything else. May meet myself coming back later, so here is an early blip before I am tempted to spend more time in the garden watching the expert, gorgeous hulks, tree surgeons!
