Parting

Partings are always a sad occasion in our family so taking our lovely granddaughter Vittoria to the train station today after a five-day stay was never going to be the best part of the day.
But summer vacation time is at an end so it's back to uni for her for the start of the new academic year next week.
On reflection we did not do a great deal in the few days she was with us - a couple of lunches out, a coffee and a walk around a supermarket are hardly the most exciting happenings for a 22-year-old.
Yet for us the sheer pleasure of having her nearby for a brief time is reward enough.
And then, having said our goodbyes at the station, I just had a quick call to make - to the local Apple Store where I had chance to have a little play with the newest iPhone 6s which went on sale today. Somehow, I had the feeling that Vittoria would have wished to join me if only to feel the new iPhone in her hands!
