Heading Home

The moon was back to its normal colour after its few hours of florid excitement yesterday. Took this as we set off on the long drive home, heading north out of Trier on the B51. We had a clear run all the way to Calais, bar a few slow sections around roadworks. The ferry was running 45 minutes late and the Channel was quite choppy in the wind, but modern boats are so much more stable than half a century ago, when passengers would have been hanging over the side of the ship! It was lovely watching the sun set over the sea, turning the sky orange and yellow: a beautiful end to our lovely holiday. Now we're overnighting near Dover, before tomorrow's long drive home.

See Extras for pictures taken from the ferry - same boat in each picture!
