Afternoon tea

At the Waldorf Astoria was planned for today. Gadgetkid and G have blipped this before and I really wanted to check it out to.

We all piled into Gadgetkid's car and drove off towards the north of the Emirates to Ras  al Khaimah, which was turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant journey. We did pass by REAL desert and camels, always a treat to see, in their natural habitat.

Arrived at the hotel ready to devour a tea ... This one to be precise. Goodness, don't think I'd ever seen such a large food display contraption!!! It took up two tables. We were well satisfied with our tea and I was pleased that we made the effort.

Had a look around the hotel and then headed back via Umm Al Quwain to visit a 'hole in the wall' unlicensed liquor vendor. Only what I used to know as a hole in the wall is now a full fledged bottle shop, in a warehouse, bursting with shoppers. It's about an hour and a half out of Dubai, that place was heaving and making huge profits, I'm sure.

Back to Dubai and we had a final craving for Lebanese at one of John's old haunts. A whole meal for 5 for under £10!!! Bargain and yummy.

Another long exhausting day ... Hence no blip  then.
