Hybrid Duck.

Having tried, and failed, to make Mrs TD's sister's I-Pad to behave itself, we made our weary way back home, stopping merely for sanitary relief at Tebay Service Station. Merlin was also allowed to stretch his legs and, while he wandered around ignoring the ducks, we tried to photograph them. There were some kids feeding them which meant we could get fairly close without wasting our own lunch on them.

As well as the standard mallards, there are some of these cross breeds in residence; they have some Indian road runner in their ancestry which means that they are of athletic build with a comical upright stance but carry very little meat. Their hyper-activity made it very difficult to keep them in frame.
