Autumn Crocus.

Another Friday, another Flower Friday challenge rescue (hosted by BikerBear). The autumn crocus has the common name of "naked lady" (don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger) and the uncommon name, Colchicum autumnale and is not particularly closely related to the common crocus. It's a highly toxic plant capable of causing a prolonged and unpleasant death. On the bright side, it is being used in research to improve chemotherapy drugs, an  ideal application for anything poisonous.
