Love what you've done with your hair!

It can't be easy to accessorise a jackdaw first thing in the morning but I thought this red deer doe carried it off beautifully.

A very early start in Richmond Park was rewarded with a terrific sunrise through mist that was probably dense enough to qualify as fog.

After that I spent some time tracking down the stags which were bellowing even louder today (an eerie sound in the fog!) but soon realised that I was only one of a growing throng of photographers - or should that be deer stalkers? It's a good thing I'm secure in my masculinity otherwise I might have felt very inadequate with my little lens in comparison to some of the bazooka-like kit being toted around!

Today's extra was almost today's blip and would have been a first for me in that it is absolutely  straight out of the camera. In many ways I think it's a better shot but I bottled it at the last minute and went for comedy value instead!
