A time for everything

Before and after!

Sunday
Our English-speaking church in Fontainebleau meets in the chapel of a Catholic school. Since April we have been meeting in one of the large classrooms, as the chapel was being repainted and refurbished. This was fine over the summer when the school was closed, but other weeks it could be quite interesting, as each week when we opened the door we could be faced with a different layout of chairs and desks! Today was the big day when we were finally able to move back into the chapel, and as you can see it was quite a transformation. Unfortunately, Roger took the "before" shots, and I took the "after" shots, and we didn't take exactly the same perspective, but I think you get the idea. Besides re painting - the walls were really dirty especially above the wall-mounted radiators, they have also cleaned the stained glass windows, tiled the area around the altar, and added a raised dais, as well as various other little changes. We had a pretty good turn out, including several people who haven't been with us for several weeks or more, so it was good to see them back.
Today, I am thankful for the opportunity to worship freely in our own language, and for the hospitality of our Catholic brothers and sisters in letting us share their lovely chapel.
