Der Aasee

It's a big lake in the middle of Münster, where I've been at a conference.

I don't think I've ever been in a city that was so cyclist friendly (I believe Bremen & Hannover are really good too), but there was a Parkhaus for bikes next to the railway station that was completely full, there were still thousands of bikes everywhere. 

You really have to take care when you're walking around.  But.  It seems to work.

It's a very laid back city, that'll be something to do with the fact that it has a very large student population. 

I found it interesting to explore without a map.  Not knowing where I was going made me look at everything and it was a lot of fun to do so.

And a word of thanks to Deutsche Bahn who were exactly late enough so that I arrived at the conference without having time to get anything to eat and spent 4 and a bit hours with a rumbling stomach.
