Above And Beyond...

Rooting

They've had me running about all afternoon as they wanted to watch the Welsh rugby World Cup match. The deal was they'd let me watch Wales play football tonight.

The blip photo is taken on the riverbank in Machen of roots that have been exposed by the river washing away the soil.  It's interesting how interwined they are.I looked at the definition of 'roots' and there are many types but they serve four main purposes -

They are to absorb water and nutrients, anchor and support the plant, storage of food and nutrients, and vegetative reproduction. There are many different types of roots, one interesting one being aerial feeding!

It's a word we we use a lot such as in family roots, square root (mathematics) and root cause, and "I'm rooting for a Wales win tonight!"
