Sunny day in Weatherfield

You should have guessed where I've been today from the title alone :-)

Despite being deaf and now hoarse as well, I didn't want to miss our Pilates group Tour of Coronation Street, before it is dismantled forever at the end of this year......the old set that is, on the site of what was Granada Studios.

We had an hours guided tour and saw all the sets ; inside the various houses on Coronation Street, we visited the Rovers as well, sW the dressing rooms, their green room, so many different props, snippets from "epic" episodes. I have to admit that I don't watch any soaps, but having grown up with Corrie, I do seem to know quite a bit about it ;-)

Once the guided tour ended, we exited through the doors from Nicks Bistro, with the theme tune playing in our ears, which opened out onto the outside scene of a cobbled street, with all the shop fronts, including the Rovers, Audrey's Hairdressers, underworld, The Kabin, Websters garage, Roy's rolls, Elliott's, prima Doner, Barlows Buys. The fronts of the houses.......one in particular, with stone cladding, where a certain Jack and Vera Duckworth used to live ;-)

We had a thoroughly enjoyable time....finished off with a brew and a sarny in the Crews Kitchen, which sadly didnt live up to the Tour. Should have gone to Roy's Rolls!!!

Feeling absolutely rubbish, can't speak, some might say that's a blessing.....if I could have a head transplant, I'd be fine ;-)
