Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

A Super Seattle Day!

We walked to the Seattle Center this morning to see the Dale Chihuly Glass and Garden on surprisingly beautiful day - for October 15 in the NW!     Then  to the Space Needle for lunch-(500 ft. up, revolves so one gets the 360 degree view more than once!)  - Mt. Baker to the North and Mt. Rainier to the South and everything in between was in its glory!  (the first extra)
Th city looked so beautiful, even with all the new construction and it’s fair share of the nation’s cranes.  Then to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor center across the street - wonderful interactive, creatively constructed views of all the projects and people that are being helped….so heartening in this world of bad news…Coffee stops both ways….Lots of talk…
And then walked home to collapse for a bit and warm up my soup for dinner….

I have a LOT of photos that would make a good collage but I’m too tired…(.flickr when I get to it.)... So am choosing this one inside Chihuly’s glass house.. He loved glass houses, (so do I) particularly the one at Kew Gardens and has made one here, with these orange pieces in the ceiling.. —the space needle towers above it, enticing H’s bother T and sister in law MA to look up at it….They love to come from Durango Co for their city fix.:-)

Something new( to me) is photographers both at Chihuly and the Space Needle restaurant taking complimentary photos one can download --the 2nd extra is their photo with Chihuly's seaforms..

Edit:  Looking for a blip for the weekly challenge of "heroic"...The thesaurus includes words like: huge, bigger than life, prominent, high, soaring, magnificent.....all of which could be applied to Chihuly's work .....(I know, a bit of a stretch with this particular photo but.........)
