A Step too Far

You have to ask why someone might ditch a seemingly serviceable pair of Converse trainers until you take a closer look and notice that the owner appears to have stepped comprehensively in a dog turd. The effort of eradicating all evidence of the mistake was obviously just too much to bear. It takes a lot of dedication with various implements to restore the treads on the sole to their rightful cleanliness. I speak from experience.

It was a particularly beautiful October morning today which brought out hordes of tourists to clog the streets around the Dower House. There were the ubiquitous gangs of visitors led by an umbrella or saltire carrying leader and throngs of camera wielding enthusiasts surrounding every bagpiper, as we took a walk in the sunshine. There was even a demonstration march wending its way behind police outriders through the middle of the confusion in the High Street.

Welcome to my world. Living but a stone's throw from the centre of Edinburgh comes at a price.

My extra image was taken outside St Giles Cathedral.
