Pink-footed goose (Anser brachyrhynchus)

It's a wet, soggy day outside. Just the weather for ducks geese - as you will see from my blip-of-the-day.  These were flying over my house when I opened the door this morning  -  what a lovely sound they made as they flew over!  Luckily my camera was not far away, so I grabbed it and managed a couple of shots. The Scottish Wildlife Trust say 85,632 of the birds have been recorded wintering in Montrose Basin this year. This is a record. The birds travel 1,200 km from Iceland and Greenland (where they breed) every year  -  a bit like Brits who go off to Spain for their hols every year!  Hope your weather is better than mine - have a good weekend.
