Mono Monday : : Origins

"Mighty oaks from little acorns grow…" I can't think of a better illustration of 'origins'. Since the acorns also feed squirrels and woodpeckers, among other critters, they could also be considered at least partially responsible for the origins of those species that feed on them.

I remember when I was in fourth grade, the year that kids still study California Indians, and we ground acorns on stone grindstones , mixed them with water and tasted the resulting gruel. I winder if I would still think it was as awful as I did then?
